Baseball Mogul 2007

Baseball Mogul isn't the most sophisticated of baseball simulation games (PureSim and OOTP are a few steps more complex) but there's still plenty to consider when trying your hand at virtual owner/GM/manager.  You still have to deal with the randomness of player performance, the difficulties inherent in the free agent market and the importance of a well-managed farm system.  Perhaps the most realistic facet of the game is finances, the numbers seem very right.

When you're picking up where the 2006 MLB season left off, just remember that Baseball Mogul generates player factors that determine their future play - past results are not a "set in concrete" determination of the future.  Younger players who seem to be "sure things" in the real world, may be anything but in Baseball Mogul.

We've had a great time playing with Baseball Mogul, choosing to take the helm of the Washington Nationals.  It was cool to be able to bring in Barry Bonds at mid-season and let him break the record before our fans!  The game is easy to play, but not at all easy to "beat".  The computer-controlled opposition general managers are not pushovers when it comes to trades.  And unless you choose to take over the Yankees, you'll always have financial constraints.  Speaking of financial constraints: there aren't many when it comes to buying Baseball Mogul.  Buy it today for $19.95 and download it immediately.  An excellent bargain.
